Welcome!
The 2009-2010 school year marks San Miguel's tenth year of empowering youth through a Lasallian education. We opened in 2000 to address the educational inequalities affecting Latino youth, of whom only 40% graduate from high school in the Twin Cities area.
San Miguel students come from Minneapolis neighborhoods blighted by poverty, drugs, gangs, and related violence. Many students share small apartments with their extended families, collaboratively working to achieve a better life.
Through small class sizes, an extended school day, and the unique graduate support program, San Miguel is dedicated to each student's success from sixth grade through high school graduation.

We provide a seven-year continuum of support to prepare students for success in high school and in achieving high school graduation. A key indicator of our success is the percentage of students who achieve high school graduation. Interim measures of success include improved academic performance and standardized tests scores; increased parent/guardian involvement; and low rates of absenteeism or truancy.
Overall, 92% of students who graduated during the past four years from San Miguel are still in high school and progressing toward graduation. Many of our graduates are the first in their families to complete high school in the United States. San Miguel students and graduates represent a vital bridge, connecting their families to the realization of the American dream.
As San Miguel graduates achieve high school graduation and pursue post-secondary education, they become models of success for other San Miguel students and graduates, their siblings, and their community.
Thank you for taking the time to become acquainted with San Miguel. Please join us in breaking the cycle of poverty - one student at a time.
